About Cristina Roman

Ms Cristina Roman has been the Senior Clinical Pharmacist at the Alfred Emergency and Trauma Centre in Melbourne since 2010. She is passionate about early pharmacist involvement in emergency medicine across the spectrum of patient presentations from trauma and resuscitation to emergency short stay admissions.

Ms Roman is currently undertaking a PhD to further investigate early pharmacist involvement in acute emergencies including stroke, severe trauma and sepsis. She has recently published on the benefits of early pharmacist review and charting of regular medications in partnership with a medical officer in the Emergency Department as well as the potential impact of the addition of emergency pharmacists to multi-faceted changes occurring in the Emergency Department on time to first doses of antibiotics.
