Background

The KSMC Level 1 Trauma Centre requires a comprehensive trauma management software system to document the data regarding patient injuries, care provided, patient outcomes and system performance.

Key Objectives & Outcomes

The establishment of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health (MOH) Trauma Registry will initially begin at KSMC and be developed under the expert guidance of the Victorian State Trauma Outcomes Registry Monitoring Group (VSTORM). The Victorian State Trauma Registry is a state-wide, population-based register of all hospitalised major trauma cases in Victoria administered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. It is proposed that KSMC will expand the use of the Trauma Registry to other MOH hospitals. This will enable wider data collection on trauma patients from the pre-hospital and acute hospital phases, as well as longer term functional and health-related quality of life outcomes for all survivors to hospital discharge and beyond.
